What was the original rationale for human sacrifices?
Sacrificing living things to gods was common in ancient times. Christianity is a prime example of Human sacrifices were historically offered for forgiveness of sins. The Bible teaches that "without The Bible teaches that "Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission for sins." A secondary question is that in Xianity, for this sacrifice to apply, one has to believe it. Why? Xianity is not alone in requiring blood sacrifices.
