Will the library stop carring regular books?
With everything going digital, is there a chance the library will stop carrying regular books with actual pages?
Answer
To allay your fears -- the library will probably never go completely digital, as long as there are people who enjoy holding a "real" book. Basically, MCPL is responding to the changes in the publishing field and buying databases and e-books to replace outdated reference books; as well as buying e-books to satisfy the new e-reader market. We are still buying traditional "books," and I don't foresee any great changes in the near future. If you are concerned about the future focus of the Mid-Continent Libraries, our administration would like to hear from you.
