Why doesn't the libray buy books by Juliet McKenna? For instance, you have books 1 & 4 only of the Aldebreshin Compass series. I had to buy boo

s 2 & 3 from Amazon. You have none of her newer books. Is there a reason?

Answer

Every book added to our library collection goes through a selection process.  Though the library purchases books from mainstream vendors, it does accept patron requests.  You might want to visit your branch and request books by this author.

From what I can find in the records, the Aldebreshin Compass Series was purchased, but all the books have "disappeared" except for #4 in the series.

When the library does not own a copy of the book you're looking for, you can request an Inter Library Loan through our WorldCat Database.  This database searches all member libraries within the US.  It might take a bit longer to receive the book, but it is certainly cheaper than having to purchase it.  Just ask a staff member to show you how to access WorldCat.

In addition, I will forward a copy of your question to our Acquisitions Manager -- she may have additional information she can share.
