What happens to back issues of magazines that are no longer on the magazine racks? Are they available to check out?

The back issues used to be kept in hanging folders or magazine boxes. Just curious as to what happens to them and if they are available.

Answer

Most of our branches check out non-current magazine issues.  Most magazines are made available for 6 months to a year, depending on the title and the branch.  North Independence Branch has a few back issues of selected titles that are kept in the Reference Area.  These are kept for research purposes and do not check out.
